Measles and misinformation
Outbreak continues, vitamin A toxicity, and loss of FDA official Dr. Marks
Did you ever read Superman comics when they went to Bizarro world? For those who didn’t, Bizarro world is a cube shaped planet where they have reverse logic and behavior. Their version of Superman is not bright, and clumsily does everything wrong. Today I feel as if we have gone into such a world.
Starting with todays news for the measles outbreak - 378 people infected over 17 states and the head of Health and Human Services is advocating vitamin A, along with some other things to stop the epidemic. While Kennedy, the Bizarro version of Superman, is clumsily giving bad advice to the masses, he forces out Dr. Peter Marks.
Some children are being hospitalized in Texas with vitamin A toxicity (causing liver damage) and yet remain unvaccinated because they believe that vaccines are evil.
To reinforce this our Bizarro Superman tells the world he would not give his kids MMR vaccine and then fires the person who was responsible for authorization and monitoring the safety of vaccines, Dr. Peter Marks.
“It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies.”
Making things worse, RFK Jr. slashed funding for critical infectious disease research and public health programs, weakening America's frontline defense against preventable diseases. This is like Bizarro Superman dismantling his own fortress of solitude—not exactly a winning strategy.
And now, tragically, we see children hospitalized in Texas suffering from vitamin A toxicity—a direct consequence of reckless, non-evidence-based public health advice promoted by HHS leadership.
We don't need a Bizarro Superman stumbling through our healthcare system. We need leadership guided by science, clarity, and expertise—qualities notably absent in RFK Jr.'s tenure.
Let's demand better before Bizarro-style governance causes even more harm.
